GOAL
The Nigerian educational sector requires urgent attention and massive skills upgrading, there is a pressing need to attract young and bright minds who do not necessarily have the requisite expertise, but who can be trained to build an enviable educational system.
The purpose of creating a conversion fund through Public Private Partnerships (PPP), is to provide conversion training for graduates in possession of degrees with low employment demand into areas currently in short supply of skilled manpower.
Through conversion training, youths are immediately able to acquire transferrable marketable skills in high employment demand careers.
The Conversion Program has been classified into two key areas:
TEACHER EDUCATION CONVERSION PROGRAM
The goals of the Teacher Education Conversion Program are:
To prepare the candidate to bring to the primary or secondary classroom the knowledge, skills, expertise, innovation, and enthusiasm necessary to succeed as a teacher
To ensure that candidates are afforded opportunities for observation, exploration, and reflection both in and outside the classroom
To apply his/her content expertise and pedagogical principles in the assessment of learning in a student teaching experience.
HEALTHCARE CONVERSION PROGRAM
The goals of the Healthcare Conversion program are:
To provide the necessary support and training for individuals that are contemplating a career switch in Healthcare and are ready for the challenges and fulfillment of being a healthcare worker.
To fill the skills gap in the healthcare industry by training competent individuals to become Public Health Officers, Occupational Therapists, Diagnostic Radiographers e.t.c.
